# ScrapeCreators: Instagram Post Comments

> Retrieves comments on a public Instagram post or reel. Includes SDK V2 guidance, input constraints, response fields, and Deepline credit cost.

Retrieves comments on a public Instagram post or reel.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Tool ID: `scrapecreators_instagram_post_comments`

## Run this action

Use the TypeScript SDK for one call. Use `ctx.tools.execute(...)` inside a Play for durable calls, scheduled calls, or CSV processing.

```ts theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
import { Deepline } from 'deepline';
const deepline = await Deepline.connect();
const result = await deepline.tools.execute(
  'scrapecreators_instagram_post_comments',
  {
    "url": "https://example.com"
  },
);
console.log(result.toolResponse.raw);
```

### CLI

```bash theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
deepline tools execute scrapecreators_instagram_post_comments --input '{
  "url": "https://example.com"
}' --json
```

## Example response

The static output schema lacks the details for a reliable example. Use `deepline describe scrapecreators_instagram_post_comments --json` for the complete live contract.

## Input reference

Retrieves comments on a public Instagram post or reel. Each comment includes the comment text, creation timestamp, reply count when Instagram provides it, and commenter details such as username, user ID, verification status, and profile picture URL. `child_comment_count` can be null when Instagram does not expose the count publicly. Set `include_replies=true` to fetch the first page of replies for every returned comment. This adds `replies`, `replies_cursor`, and `has_more_replies` to each comment. Errors are not charged. This option is much slower than a normal comments request and may time out at 29 seconds. Supports cursor-based pagination to load additional comment pages. You should expect \~90% success rate.

| Name | Type | Required | Default | Details |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `payload.url` | `string` | Yes | — | The URL of the post or reel to get comments from |
| `payload.include_replies` | `boolean` | No | — | Set to true to include replies for every returned comment. This is much slower and may time out at 29 seconds. |
| `payload.cursor` | `string` | No | — | The cursor to get more comments. Get 'cursor' from previous response. |
