Search for a person by name or identifier.

<Info>
  Tool ID: `fundable_search_people_by_name`
</Info>

## Run this action

This action has conditional or dynamic input fields that cannot be represented by a reliable static example.

Inspect the live contract before executing it:

```bash theme={null}
deepline tools get fundable_search_people_by_name --json
```

## Example response

The SDK exposes this shape at `result.toolResponse.raw`. Values below are representative.

```json theme={null}
{
  "data": {
    "success": true,
    "data": {
      "people": [
        {
          "id": "123e4567-e89b-42d3-a456-426614174000",
          "name": "Example",
          "linkedin_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe"
        }
      ]
    },
    "meta": {
      "total_count": 123
    }
  }
}
```

Use `deepline tools get fundable_search_people_by_name --json` for the latest machine-readable contract.

## Input reference

Use this endpoint primarily to resolve a fuzzy person name or uncertain identifier. If a reliable LinkedIn URL is already available, skip this search and pass it directly to `GET /person` for one full profile or to `POST /people` for a batch lookup. Exactly one parameter must be provided. **Search types:** - `name` — Fuzzy name search across both investors AND non-investor people (founders, employees). Returns up to 10 results. - `id` — Person UUID lookup (returns 0 or 1) - `linkedin` — LinkedIn person URL or slug - `crunchbase` — Crunchbase person URL or slug - `twitter` — Twitter/X URL or handle `person_type` on each result indicates which pool the row came from (`investor` wins when a person is in both). For full person detail, use `/person`.

| Name | Type | Required | Default | Details |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `payload.name` | `string` | No | — | Fuzzy search by person name Minimum length: 1. |
| `payload.id` | `string` | No | — | Person UUID Format: `uuid`. Minimum length: 1. |
| `payload.linkedin` | `string` | No | — | LinkedIn person URL Minimum length: 1. |
| `payload.crunchbase` | `string` | No | — | Crunchbase person URL Minimum length: 1. |
| `payload.twitter` | `string` | No | — | Twitter/X URL Minimum length: 1. |
| `payload.person_type` | `"investor" \| "company"` | No | — | Optional filter restricting results to one pool. `investor` keeps only people tracked as investors/angels; `company` keeps only non-investor people (founders, CEOs, employees). Omit to search both. Applies to both name and identifier modes — identifier lookups return empty if the resolved person doesn't match the requested type. Allowed: `investor`, `company`. |
