# Competitive intelligence signals

> Ask your agent to qualify competitive evidence without overstating what it proves.

[Agent guide: CLI and SDK instructions →](/docs/plays/signal-competitive-intel)

## 1. Have your context ready

Have the source, company identity, observed event, date, and the decision your team needs to make.

## 2. Ask your agent

Paste this into your agent, then provide your task and example inputs when it asks:

```deepline-prompt theme={null}
/deepline-gtm Review this competitive signal using Deepline. Preserve the source URL, event date, matched company, and exact observed fact. Distinguish direct evidence from interpretation. Compare it with my relevance rule and return a cited review record plus a proposed action. Do not infer contract terms, private intent, or buying authority from public engagement alone.
```

Complete any requested sign-in yourself. Give the agent the missing information before approving execution. Provider-backed work can incur usage.

## 3. Review the result

The proposed message or action is factual and supported. A competitor-related observation is not proof of dissatisfaction or a replacement project.

Ask your agent:

```deepline-prompt theme={null}
/deepline-gtm Compare the result with the acceptance rule we agreed. Show the evidence for accepted and rejected outcomes, unresolved questions, and recorded Deepline usage where work ran. If work is still running or a response is uncertain, inspect the original saved execution before proposing another request. Explain the next decision I need to make.
```

Approve a larger job, recurring work, or external changes only after reviewing that decision.

## Check your understanding

Does one competitor mention establish that an account is replacing its current vendor?

> **Show the answer**
>
> No. Record the mention and its context. Replacement intent requires separate
> supporting evidence.
